Literature Text

cornflower mood with the confidence
to cope with fair weather
featherweight hues of happiness.
harlequin shades of the same face,
it's all blue when it's fresh
or when it's a storm-torn
sea shell with remnants
of sky pigments
powdering its curves.
Day 2

Written for NaPoWriMo as well as BeautyInRawHumanity. I was particuarly inspired by a BeautyInRawHumanity prompt and after I got started on that specific one, I loved this short poem so much that I didn't even bother trying to incorporate another prompt from any other source, haha. I hope you guys enjoy this and I'm lookin' forward to day tres already.

Also, quick meaning slash definition behind the title of this piece as told to haphazardmelody:
Centaurea cyanus is the latin name for the cornflower and cyan(us) obviously means blue. Diadem is a jeweled crown or headband worn as a symbol of sovereignty (And blue diadem is also one of the most common colors IN the cornflower.). So this title, quite simply, equates to a blue crown (crown, on the head, or crown of the head).

Blue is also representative of a wide range of emotions and perspectives, as well as being the most well-liked color in the color spectrum. So, this comes out as "blue head." Blue perspective, to get it down as short as possible. When you think blue, we may think happy and sad things, and I felt like I captured that thought-process in my usual abstract-as-Hell way.

BeautyInRawHumanity's used prompt(s):
3. Cornflower, Confidence, Cope
